“Happy owners = Greater interaction = HAPPY CALM DOGS”

The key to a successful owner/dog relationship is a basic understanding of dog psychology.

A dog is a pack animal by nature, with different instincts and drives to that of humans. Within the pack is a clearly defined hierarchical structure. From your dog’s perspective, that makes you and your family part of his or her pack. We can’t change this… it is nature’s way.

Unfortunately, often the way we relate to our dogs can make us appear weak or a pushover!  Spot on Dog Training can show you how to work with nature to make you the ‘pack leaders’. This then results in your dog showing a new found respect for its owner/s and a whole new way of behaving.

Your dog will then be calmer and happier
with the added security it will identify from you- the pack leader.

You become a source of strength and stability for your dog.

Why Train Your Dog

When you have behavioural issues with your dog the chances are you will interact with it less.  Most owners then stop walking or playing with their dogs altogether.  Let’s face it, who wants to be jumped on or nipped at when playing, or get dragged down the street when going for a walk?

Unfortunately ignoring the issues, results in unwanted behaviour getting worse as your dog becomes even more bored and frustrated!

At Spot On Dog Training we believe a dog should fit in with your lifestyle, not you changing everything to fit in with your dog.  Only then will you truly enjoy spending quality time with your dog without having to constantly yell and reprimand.

How do we achieve this?

“Obedience Training is only party tricks if you do not know how to apply them around your home in certain situations”

By coming to you, Spot On Dog Training is able to fix problems where they occur...in your home.  Group training classes always results in a slower learning process for your dog.  The distraction of other dogs, often makes training impossible.  How does group training fix a dog jumping on your children or other guests at your house?  It can’t.

One-on-one training speeds up the learning process for your dog/s.  This means you get results fast, without short cuts.
The flexibility of personalised training also allows lessons to be scheduled around you!

Training Methods

“I have helped many dog owners after they have used other trainers who stick to one training philosophy.  The problem is they don’t have a plan B or Plan C...”

If you have been researching dog training you are probably quite confused by now.  Treat-based training, clicker training, operant conditioning, positive reinforcement...

Spot On Dog Training approaches dog training from a balanced perspective.  As with people no two dogs are the same.  What works with one dog may not work with another.

A balanced approach allows for a far greater success rate when fixing dog training issues.  Balanced trainers call on a wide range of knowledge and experienced based on a variety of training philosophies.  This allows for a personal approach to fixing your problems.

Trainers who use one method, often are unable to fix many dog problems.  Often their only answer is to re-home the dog.  Spot On believes in results for your investment!
